I searched the Internet and finally found some documents for reading. Right now I have the idea of what it is and how it works roughly. Dr. Parimala and I have talked about some details on the work and expectation of the first step during this month. Firstly, I will do some deeper research on how Xen-tools is working under Solaris 10 in a isolated envirnment; and then moving to getting some VMs to work just as what I have done on my broken laptop.
Further, I may work on creating some very simple programs which can run independently to test the performence of the Live Migration. The main idea is to have independent programs running at the same time or even in order, then when one program with heavy workload, the CPU will automatically start the process of Live Migration which can assign the a new VM and make the live copy to it for the program. The ideal model or the algorithm may be like: choosing the core (or CPU)with least workload or best performance; can assign the RAM to VMs dymatically and be able to collect unused RAM and reassign it to where it is required.
However, so many issues come out, and I have to deal with before it can go. For later,I need to figure out whether it is needy to find a basic way to control or manage the connection between VMs. On the other side, Dr. Parimala's Master Student--Himani is very helpful to answer some of my questions.
