This week we met on Friday 10:30 am in Dr. parimala's office. We discussed this model and infrastructure that would be used for the project, and I was assigned with a series of tasks on native setting up a P2P network with several notebooks* under Linux. And then we decided to set up this network under Ubuntu**.This network is working with a switch or a router on DHCP(may be static IP)***, and the software will be used is Xen**** which is perfectly working well under Linux(specially for Ubuntu, so far not sure for Windows). The first hardship of this procedure is installation of Xen under Linux, cause there are some problems with kernel, grub and sudo mode for Xen(potential security issues)*****. And some tests are required to ensure xen is working well on a single machine. Then, the next step is setting up the network for it, and there are two ideas: the first is, setting up a traditional network; the second is, by using Wine under Linux or VMWare under Windows to simulate a simple network between vm and os.Then the network will be put into tests.
ps: xen-tools.org may be used for later reference.
* The notebook has 3-4 GB of Ram should be fine to work with later tasks.
** Unlike some other Linux versions, Ubuntu is working with Gnome very well, other than KDE.
*** This is based on which mode is stable for the working network and will be figured out later.

***** Some recorded problems are: Xen is not working well with grub 2.0; in some computers, the system may not mount the related disks; under Fedora, Xen is located between hardware and OS, this may cause some security issues, may be the some situation for Ubuntu.
